Wizmo is a multi-purpose Windows application developed specifically for helping you create shortcuts for various tasks, such as turn off the monitor, blank out your background image and eject a CD.Standalone toolThe application is deployed on your system via a lightweight and portable package, which means it can be run without the need for installation procedure. You can copy it on any storage device and carry it with you. What’s more, the tool doesn’t leave its settings on the host computer and write entries in the Windows registry, so you may run it without administrative privileges. How it works The concept behind Wizmo’s capabilities relies on a simple yet efficient process for performing many Windows tweaks. When you run the tool for the first time, the main window reveals the necessary information for configuring and taking advantage of the utility’s features. Firstly, you need to store the EXE file in a directory on your system (the Windows folders may be a good choice) and then create a Windows shortcut from that file (you may place the shortcut wherever you like it: Start menu, desktop toolbar or another location). The next step requires you edit the shortcut’s command and add one of the supported commands. In addition, you may change the icon's appearance for the current Wizmo command. In the end, you only need to save the edited shortcut. Whenever you click on a Wizmo shortcut, the application automatically executes the task. Plus, you can also use the command-line console for working with the Wizmo commands. Supported commandsWizmo gives you the possibility to activate various commands, such as blank out your screen, enable the screen saver, turn off the monitor, lock the workstation, trigger the standby or hibernation mode, log off the current user, exit all applications, reboot or shutdown the system, open the CD-ROM, set or mute the volume, and play a custom audio file (WAV file format).
