Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry. You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you to need to lock your computer on the fly, without having to go through installation steps. Windows Desktop Lock sports a simplistic layout that allows users to set up the encryption process with just a few clicks. The application gives users the possibility to provide details about the username and password, but it doesn’t offer information about the strength level of your password. You can unlock the computer only if you remember the correct password, and after five failed attempts to guess the right password, the application automatically disables the unlocking mode for two minutes. What’s more, Windows Desktop Lock comes packed with several special tools built specifically for helping you disable the Windows Task Manager while the program is locked, and prevent users close the program by pressing the corresponding hotkey.
