For a free ripper, this application works extremely well, and has all the features that you could possibly need for a simple DVD ripping operation. You can select the whole movie for conversion or just a certain title. You can also select an audio and subtitle track for each file from a drop-down menu. If you select a subtitle, it will be hard-coded onto the video, and you won't be able to disable it. But you will be able to play your movie with a subtitle even on devices that don't support the feature. In terms of performance, I thought WinX Free DVD to MPEG Ripper worked quite well, and it was on par with other competing rippers in terms of speed and quality. The only problem I noticed was low audio quality, but this was because the volume was increased by 8 decibels by the ripper. You can disable this easily by moving the bar down to 0.
