Widi Recognition Description

Widi Recognition is a tool that can create polyphonic MIDIs from sound files of various formats (including WAV, MP3 and CDA). The interface of the application is pretty outdated. Widi Recognition definitely needs some improvements from this point of view. You can import audio tracks by using the file browser only, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported. So, you can set the start and end time of the source track or make a selection, create the MIDI file, enable synchronous playback and edit MIDI properties (copyright string, key, meter, tempo). Furthermore, you can use a Wave recorder (e.g. set the sample frequency rate, bit resolution and channels) and configure recognition settings (e.g. auto tuning, harmonic filter or monophonic mode, peak or local note detection method). But you can also view and change settings in an equalizer (e.g. all to max or zero), access the Windows audio mixer, as well as configure program options when it comes to processing (e.g. make GS files, record to temporary directory, grab CD to temporary files), devices and others. Settings can be restored to their default values. The application takes up a moderate amount of system resources, supports keyboard shortcuts and includes a comprehensive help files for all users.
