WeatherCheck Description

Editor's review: An Application to get the latest local weather information to your Desktop. Primarily a System-Tray based program but a bigger screen is available with a double-click. Pros: Provides easy and accurate Weather information for your chosen city at any given time. The System-tray icon makes it accessible anytime, no matter what other applications are running, and the ability to double-click to get a screen with more information (such as 7-day weather forecast) makes it an attractive tool. It shows both Celsius and Fahrenheit scales at the same time and this is a great convenience. Humidity, Wind Speed, Barometric Pressure, Dewpoint, Wind Chill and Visibility are all displayed as part of the package. Cons: The information is primarily in numbers, and one does not get a sense of visual information even in a thing like the forecast. The interface is decent, but not attractive and therefore it is hard to keep the screen open for long, and you tend to just stick to the System-tray icon which only says something like “Current weather: good, 65 F (18 C)”, so the utility gets reduced because of that. There is no way to see graphs, current satellite maps etc, so it is likely you’ll end up surfing for this information anyway, so it is not really going to help you to have this, except to see the temperature as you leave. It is not clear whether Alerts etc. will be updated in real-time and displayed. Overall: 3 stars. It is useful but there are better programs for the same function out there.
