WSS 3 Workflow Tools Description
The WSS 3 Workflow Tools pack will provide rapid workflow development for the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 platform, comparable to the InfoPath based design methodology used with SharePoint Server. In the toolset you will find all the components that you need to bring your workflows to the next level. Use the Visual Studio templates to easily create new workflow forms. Derive from the base classes to focus on the business at hand without the need to write SharePoint specific infrastructure, or make your workflow forms designable by using the hosted form infrastructure. As a bonus the first building blocks for bulk-task operations is also provided. Included with WSS 3 Workflow Tools is a sample workflow which shows how to use the various components. The sample workflow shows how to create workflow pages using the hosted control framework. The following form implementations are provided. - A generic configuration form shown during association as well as instantiation of a workflow - A task form which uses extended properties as the data store - A task form which uses content type fields as the data store - A bulk task editing form Sample controls for the form header and description and a sample control for the progress screen Note that the workflow does not implement any real-world business logic and does not alter any list-items outside of the tasks it creates.
