The interface of the program is quite simple and therefore, easy to use. The main window is actually just the interactive image of a typewriter surrounded by all the actions available in the application. The UI is highly customizable. You are able to change the wallpaper of the app with some of the images provided by the developers or your own. In addition to that, the type of paper you are writing on can be changed, from blank ones to others that look old or have a certain logo on them. Exporting your work from Virtual Typewriter can only be done in PDF, HTML, TXT and JPG files, while importing is available in VST (Visual Typewriter Document). The fact that additional types of files are not supported can be considered a limitation by some. A spell checker can be enabled for American or British English. Like in other text editing programs, when a typo is discovered, the word can be marked and you can receive a suggestion for that specific word. The application enables users to send all their written data to an e-mail address directly from it, so that they do not have to bother with an e-mail client. You can choose a computer voice to read your texts out loud. Furthermore, the speed and volume of the speech can be altered at any point. All in all, Virtual Typewriter is a useful piece of software that can help you write stories, novels, poetry and even e-mail messages in a unique setting.
