Unreal Commander Description

Unreal Commander has been created to provide users with an alternative to Windows Explorer. It has a customizable interface that looks quite like other similar tools out there. Its most outstanding characteristic is that it has two panels that allow you to browse different locations simultaneously, which facilitates copying, comparing and synchronizing operations. The program supports exploring not only standard disk locations but also mapped networks and FTP sites. It is great that FTP connections can be protected using SSL/TLS. Likewise, it is convenient that it has a built-in download manager for remote data transfers. In my opinion, the program has some features that stand out from the rest. One of them is the possibility of renaming a group of files as a single operation. Likewise, you can use the tool to make large files easier to transfer and store by splitting or zipping them. Similarly, it supports decompressing various types of archives without the need of an external program. It also uses Universal Viewer to visualize some file types but you can set any other program if you want. Finally, you can install more features by configuring Lister, Packer and Content plugins. I was quite pleased with this product; yet, this does not mean that there are certain things I did not like. For instance, I missed using the right-click contextual menu of Windows Explorer. Regrettably, the program crashed every time I tried to change the visual theme. In short, Unreal Commander is packed with multiple features that make it deserve your attention. The tool is free to use, but to enjoy all its features, you first need to register it, which feels quite bothersome to me. Pedro Castro Editor rating:
