UnMHT Description

UnMHT is a Mozilla Firefox extension especially created to help you save selections from a webpage, or the page entirely in MHTML format. When saving a webpage in MHTML or MHT format, you store not only the content of the target page but also its external resources such as images, flash animations and audio files inside an archive. This proves to be very helpful for when you need to work offline or when you need to send the web page to someone for viewing as accurately as possible. Besides Firefox, the extension works with SeaMonkey and delivers the same results. After the typical extension installation finishes, you will be able to see three new options in the right click context menu of Firefox. These provide you with the options to save the page or selection in MHT format and send the page as MHT via email. You can also toggle to have the extension display a button in the browsers’ Add-on Bar. Apart from being very simple to use, it also provides you with a surprising amount of practical settings. You can choose to save a single page or all the opened tabs and store them in their current state with, or without script. Since the extension allows you to store and email saved content, it only makes sense that it lets you send the MHT file using Thunderbird or SeaMonkey but it also lets you choose any other application that is installed on your computer. UnMHT also offers you the option to rename the files when saving and allows you to limit the number of characters used. The extension excels a bit more in functionality by allowing you to choose which of the saving options you wish to have displayed in the context menu. You can even select to eliminate UnMHT from the Firefox Tools menu entirely. And just in case you’ve turned off all the quick save options, UnMHT enables you to set custom shortcut keys that you can use to download the MHT files.
