USC Image Filename Management System Description

Digital camera will automatically create image file name. No matter how we configure, it may use the same image file name again. For example, we might have IMG_0001.JPG taken sometimes ago and the same file name would be used today. Renaming a file is easy, but renaming a number of files is a troublesome job and easy to make mistakes. The best practice is to copy from the flash card or the digital camera into a sub-directory. In the web site, www.english.t-photo.com, Mr. F. H. Tong has suggested to use the date as the directory name. This program is designed to add the header to all FileNames in a directory. Of course, the program can be used for renaming other filenames too. No installation is required to run this program. Besides adding the filename header, other functions include replacing certain part of filename headers of all files in a directory with new word name, and changing filename one by one. When working with single file, if the selected file format is JPEG or BITMAP, there will be a small display for easy access.
