URIsplit is an easy-to-use and open source library that's been designed to allow you to parse URIs in the form "proto://host". URIsplit manages to split the contest of all the URIs and allows you to retrieve them without boring bit-bang and without complicated and bloated environments. It is not meant to be compliant with the RFC's.
