UFRaw Description

UFRaw (Unidentified Flying Raw) is an editor for raw images. The program was originally designed for Linux, but now it can be used in Windows without any problem. Before executing UFRaw you need to install Gimp (version 2.4.6 or later). The main window is merely a browser that allows you to search for and open the images you're going to work with. You can define your search by Raw images, UFRaw ID files, Raw JPG, and Raw TIF formats. At the top of the window, it also includes some navigation buttons that make the searching process easier. Once you have selected the raw image to work with, the program will show it in a window, along with its raw histogram with conversion curves, its live histogram and many other features, which actually make UFRaw a great option to work with. It also includes a sliding bar that allows you to adjust the exposure compensation. The rest of the options are arranged in tabs: white balance, grayscale, lens correction, base curve, color management, correct luminosity, saturation, lightness adjustments, crop and rotate, save, and Exif details. Within the "White balance" tab you can use many presets, or you can manually adjust the temperature and other options. The "Grayscale" includes presets for lightness, luminance, value, and a channel mixer for adjusting RGB colors manually. With the "Lens correction" tab you can select the camera and lens you are working with - many camera brands and models are included. Roberto Jimenez Editor rating:
