TurnBackTime Description

The TurnBackTime application was designed to be a small program that will set your system date to 1st January 2000, run another program, and then set your system date back to what it was previously. Why? Well, some software is written to expire on a particular date. There may be a legitimate reason for this, but some older software is no longer supported by its writers and there isn't even a way to upgrade to a newer version, so if you're stuck with an old favourite that has expired, it's worth giving TurnBackTime a go. TurnBackTime will NOT work with ALL programs that have expiry functions, but it will do so if the program carries out a single date check at startup. To give the program time to startup, carry out the date check and continue, TurnBackTime accepts a parameter to tell it how long to keep the fake date in place. A setting of 5 seconds will do the job for most programs.
