TechNature Description

The TechNature? Source Code Library is a collection of rendering, mathematics, and texturing functions that "grow" 3D planets, and vegetation from random numbers. It uses several fractal mathematics routines to generate the geometry of the terrain. It then uses special fractal texture generating functions to create seamless procedural textures. This system is capable of "growing" stars, planets, moons, asteroids, trees, and grass, as well as fluffy clouds. All of which can be used in any Direct3D program. Features Include : -Rendered In Real Time Using Direct3D Version 6.0, or Higher. -Source code is royalty free. -Randomly Generate Solar Systems Including Suns, Planets, Planetoids, And Moons. -Fractal Terrain Functions Can Generate Rocky Planets Or Ice Planets. -Procedural Texture Functions Eliminates The Need For Those Pesky Artists ;-). -True Reflections On Complex Spherical Surfaces. -Grow A Variety Of Realistic Trees. -Seamless Sphere Mapping With No Distortion(ie. All Texture Pixels Have Same Volume). -Zero Distortion Terrain Texture Mapping. No Streaking/Streaching On Steep Slopes. -Geometry, And Texture Are Completly Scalable. Generate A Low Poly Asteroid ,Or A Mega Poly Planet, Or Both(Deep Impact!) More information, including screenshots, can be viewed at Tanzanite's Home Page : www.tanzanite.toPlatforms supported:Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows MELanguages supported:C, C++, and assembly
