Tano Description

Tano is an open-source and cross-platform IP TV player. It helps you connect to an Internet TV station and schedule recordings. User interfaceThe application delivers a well-organized suite of features but it cannot be described as highly intuitive. There’s no support for a help manual that could shed some light upon the program’s capabilities so experimenting with the built-in parameters is your only chance to understand how it works. Importing and EPG options Tano allows you to add multimedia files, custom links and channels from M3U file format. You may create playlists and apply category filters, perform searches, as well as check out EPG (electronic program guide) in advance for four days. Playlist editor The utility integrates a built-in editor that you can use for customizing playlists. You are allowed to add a name to your playlist and edit the channel by specifying the number, picking the type (TV, HD, radio, SD), and providing details about the name, URL, language and logo. In addition, you can make the application search for new channels by a user-defined IP range and save the channel data to M3U, CSV, TXT, or JS file format. Playback controls, recorder and several configuration settingsYou can easily control the content of your media files by playing or stopping the current selection, jumping to the next or previous item, and adjusting the volumes. The tool helps you record data and view details about the recording status (channel, elapsed and end time), stop the recording process, take snapshots, and tweak the video data (e.g. insert subtitles, adjust the aspect ratio, crop, apply deinterlacing effects). When it comes to configuration settings, you may reassign hotkeys for faster actions, make the program remember the volume, automatically play the last channel, choose the default playlist, select the network interface, and specify the saving directory where the recordings and snapshots are stored. An overall efficient utilityAll in all, Tano comes bundled with several handy features for helping you connect to an Internet TV station, view EPG in advance, schedule the recordings, and add new channels.
