SweepGen Description

SweepGen is a lightweight and portable application that enables users to turn their computer into an audio oscillator and sweep generator. As installation is not a requirement, you can drop the executable file somewhere on the hard disk and just click it to run. It is also possible to save SweepGen to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation without previous installers. An important aspect to consider is that the Windows registry does not get updated with new entries, and files are not left behind on the hard disk after removing the program. The interface is made from a regular window with a simple layout where you can easily make all the necessary adjustments. So, you can choose a preset or custom frequency range, pick the waveform between sine and square, select the sweep method (linar or log) and speed (from fast to no sweep), adjust the output level for both right and left channels, as well as pick the channel mode (in phase, 180-degree phase, or independent). SweepGen has a good response time and runs on a very low amount of CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the overall performance of the computer. We have not come across any issues in our evaluation, since the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. All in all, SweepGen includes simple-to-configure options when it comes to turning your computer into an audio oscillator and sweep generator, and it should please all types of users, regardless of their level of experience.
