SubTool Description

SubTool provides users with the possibility of quickly editing MicroDVD and SubRip subtitles in a friendly environment that does not require extensive knowledge. This is a portable piece of kit, so SubTool does not come with a setup pack. Instead, you can move the executable file to any spot on the hard disk and simply run it. It is also possible to save SubTool to a removable device (like a USB flash disk) to run it on any computer with no prior installations. An important factor is that the Windows Registry area does not get entry updates, and files do not remain behind on the hard drive after removing it. SubTool is wrapped in a simple interface with no highlights in the visual aspect. However, we must take into account that the app has not received updates for a long while. Loading a subtitle into the workspace is done through the folder structure only, since "drag and drop" is not supported. SubTool lets you establish the output format (MicroDVD or SubRip), along with the size and number of the segments, in order to split the subtitle. You can also make corrections by removing spaces between numbers or strange symbols, and by selecting the language. Other options of SubTool let you change the output frame rate, correct subtitle synchronization, delete comments, as well as choose the frame rate nearest to the resulted one. From the Options panel you can enable to SubTool use the output files as a new input file, delete the source item after a successful task, save settings for further project, as well as to automatically specify the output format. The program is very low-demanding when it comes to the CPU and system memory, has a good response time and carries out tasks swiftly, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error notifications. Unfortunately, you cannot import a movie file to accurately synchronize the corresponding subtitle to it. Thanks to its intuitive layout, SubTool should please the entire audience.
