Steampunk CPU & GPU Temperature Monitor Description

Designed for the Yahoo! Widget Engine, Steampunk CPU & GPU Temperature Monitor is a Windows widget with a pretty self-explanatory name - it allows you to monitor the current CPU and GPU levels of your computer. As suggested by the name, the program's interface is based on a steampunk-themed layout. This frame can be moved to any position on the screen, with the help of the mouse cursor. So, you can check out the current CPU and memory levels in two gauges, as well as set the Hot and Warm alarms to trigger when the CPU and GPU reach specific temperature levels. The widget integrates a bunch of sounds, including alerts when the aforementioned levels are high. From the Widget Preferences screen, you can make a few adjustments to Steampunk CPU & GPU Temperature Monitor. For example, you can change the frame size and hide the printer graph, alter the Speedfan folder location and modify the frequency slider to increase the sample interval. But you can also disable chimes or set the storage value for the right Hot slider, left and right Warm sliders. Thanks to the default options provided by the operating system, you can make the main frame stay on top or below all the other windows, ignore mouse events and prevent dragging. Plus, you can adjust its opacity. Steampunk CPU & GPU Temperature Monitor barely uses CPU and system memory, so it's not a concern to the computer's resources. It's very responsive to commands and worked properly during our testing, without causing us any problems, such as freezing, crashing or displaying error messages. Less experienced users can easily learn how to work with this tool; its main attraction lies in the steampunk-themed interface. Reviewed by Elena Opris, last updated on April 3rd, 2013
