SteamHttpCacheView Description

SteamHttpCacheView is a tiny and portable piece of software that enables you to view the contents of a Steam client's installation "httpcache" folder, including the URL and content type of each file. It comes packed with a bunch of practical options that can be quickly figured out, such as exporting information to file.Portability upsidesSince there is no setup pack involved, you can save the program files to a custom location on the disk and just click the executable to immediately launch SteamHttpCacheView. Another option is to copy it to a USB flash drive and directly run it on any other computer with Steam installed, knowing that no other app installations are required. Plus, it doesn't modify Windows registry settings or create new files without your permission. Uncomplicated interface and optionsThe GUI doesn't stand out in terms of appearance, since SteamHttpCacheView adopts a classical, yet neatly structured look. The Steam contents are automatically loaded in the list at startup, and you can check out the name, URL and content type of each file. View and export information Selected cache files can be opened without leaving the app's interface, via the context menu. Likewise, you can open links in the default web browser, remove files from the computer, as well as copy the information to the Clipboard or export it to a text, tab-delimited, comma-delimited or HTML file. A search function is put at your disposal too. What's more, you can switch from viewing the main HTTP cache to the big picture HTTP cache. SteamHttpCacheView lets you modify the default Steam cache folder along with the default file action, permanently remove the files from the PC instead of sending them to the Recycle Bin, or mark zero-length files. Evaluation and conclusionThe software utility worked smoothly in our tests, without making the operating system hang, crash or pop up error messages. Its impact on system performance is minimal, as it uses low CPU and RAM. To sum it up, SteamHttpCacheView delivers a simple solution to checking out Steam cache files, and it can be easily handled by all types of users.
