StarCodec Lite is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help you install a handy set of codecs on your computer on the breeze. It comes in handy for all users who have experienced problems while running movies or listening to songs because codecs were missing from the computer. Straightforward looksThe program sports a clean and intuitive interface that allows you to perform most operations with just a few clicks. This step-by-step approach comes in handy for rookies, as they are offered guidance throughout the entire installation process. Basic functionality and supported codecsStarCodec Lite offers support for various codecs, such as LAV, AC3, XviD Codec, MP3 , OGG, AAC, VS filters, MP4 Splitter, DivFix++, and others. You are allowed to manually select the items from the list that you want to install on your computer, pick the destination folder, choose the audio output (e.g. mono, stereo), pick the video post processing level, as well as view the space required for installing the codec package and available space. On the downside, it doesn’t feature a built-in scanning mode for helping you detect and view the codecs installed on the system. During our testing we have noticed that the app accomplishes a task quickly and without errors throughout the entire process. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so it doesn’t burden the overall performance of the computer.
