Splendid Desktop Helper is an extremely simple free tool that will add attractive screensavers based on your choice of images to your desktop. You can combine your own JPG, GIF, or PNG image files with those that come with the program and others that it will grab from the Internet for you. Both the images used and the way they appear in your screen are fully customizable. The program offers you an extensive list of images to choose from, neatly organized in eleven categories ranging from animals to cars, from sexy beauties to undersea worlds, or from cartoons to babies. All of these will appear in the “Local picture” section, where you can copy all your favorite images so that they become part of your screensavers. They will be shown in a random manner, following your time lapse and position preferences. It can control both your wallpaper and your screensaver by using any combination of images and Flash videos (SWF files are also supported). It can also add some nice floating bubbles to your design. Another possibility offered by Splendid Desktop Helper is to combine all the images stored in the “Local picture” section with random pictures that the program will download from the Internet automatically. These will be stored in the “Internet picture” folder and you can always select which are allowed and which should be ignored. This is also true for all images – you can open the program’s image manager at any time and mark each image accordingly.
