Smart PropertyGrid.MFC Description

SMART PropertyGrid for MFC started when I was working as project lead on a personal project with close friends. We were writing an air traffic control network for Microsoft Flight Simulator enthusiasts. Each object on the radar scope could have been selected by the OperaTor and every property of this object displayed in the PropertyGrid. At that time, my goal was to be able to have a great variety of property types and editors. After our team was dissolved, the code I had written was the perfect candidate for a commercial product and it measured up very well, even against several major competitors in this market. Once .Net was a proven and adopted technology and while the version 2.0 of the framework was in beta, I decided to migrate all my MFC code to C#, a language that was catching my attention for its similarities to Java. A lot of people had expressed their Interest for a potential PropertyGrid for .Net, one that would fill the shortcomings of the Microsoft one found in the framework. As you know, the MSPG is a great tool for developers but it lacks a lot of things to make it a control that you can integrate into your applications. So I did it and today I’m very pleased with the result and its commercial success.
