ShutDownOne Description
With the help of ShutDownOne you can schedule power management functions in a very simple manner. For instance, you can use it to make your workstation turn off automatically every day after you leave for work. After a brief and uneventful setup procedure, ShutDownOne creates an icon in the system tray area upon initialization. Clicking it allows you to immediately power off the computer. However, ShutDownOne comes equipped with numerous options that are available through the icon's right-click menu. For instance, you can schedule a timed action, such as shutdown, restart, lock workstation, standby and force restart. You can make the alarm trigger once, daily or weekly. Furthermore, you can create a shortcut or a batch file for one of these operations with the configured settings included, as well as remotely turn off a computer that you are connect to via LAN. It is also possible to make ShutDownOne automatically run at system startup, run in silent mode (without the tray icon), or automatically login after restart. But you may also enable an activity timer, run a command before taking action, use hotkeys, password-protect the tool, and configure privacy parameters (e.g. delete temporary files, empty Recycle Bin, clear history of Run). The application barely uses CPU and system memory, so it doesn't put a strain on the computer's overall performance. It has a good response time and works well, without hanging, crashing or popping up error dialogs; we haven't come across any issues throughout our evaluation. On the other hand, ShutDownOne has not been updated for a very long time. Reviewed by Elena Opris, last updated on June 21st, 2013
