For instance, it can shut down the computer, restart the system or lock the computer. While these are actions that can be triggered easily from the Start menu, sometimes it’s best if you have a shortcut to them so, if you need to immediately shut down the computer or restart it, you don’t have to do anything other than click a button on the screen. The app has a compact frame which means it doesn’t take up a lot of space on the desktop, since these are usually already cluttered with icons and files. Similarly to all desktop widgets, the ShutDown Vista Gadget can be set to always be on top of other programs by enabling the “Always on top” feature from the context menu.
