SampliBrowse Description

The SampliBrowse application will allow you to pre-listen and browse AKAI S-1000 / S-3000 CDs in a most comfortable way. It looks and behaves pretty much like the well known Windows Explorer - only it can read your AKAI CDs. And not only can it read them - it allows you to actually play the sounds directly from the CD! SampliBrowse contains a powerful software sampler, which loads the sounds from your CDs several times faster than your hardware sampler could. SampliBrowse has an on-screen keyboard, so you really can try out the sounds!(additionally, you can plug in a MIDI keyboard) You need not actually load the sound into your sampler just to see what it would sound like. You will love SampliBrowse, if you are a Pulsar / Scope user: SampliBrowse not only reads AKAI CDs directly from your PC's CDROM drive but also those ".p / .s" files the Pulsar sample player writes to your hard disk. With SampliBrowse, you can copy / move / duplicate those Pulsar sample player sounds, either directly from CD to the filesystem or from one folder to another. Needless to say you can search a CD / your entire harddisk for samples and sounds. SampliBrowse lets you browse: - AKAI S1000 / S3000 sampling CDs - WAV sampling CDs (normal CD-ROMs) - filesystems containing WAV files and AKAI S1000 / S3000 samples / programs in Pulsar format (.p / .s) SampliBrowse looks and feels nearly exactly like the standard Windows Explorer you're used to: it shows the whole filesystem, including all drive letters, in a tree structure on the left side of it's main window and the contents of a selected folder on the right side. SampliBrowse transparently treats AKAI sampling CDs like 'normal' data CDs. SampliBrowse lets you: - audition samples (.WAV-files / .s-files / AKAI-CD samples) - play programs (.p-files / AKAI-CD programs) directly from their source location. You can audition samples by double clicking on them or pressing the play / play looped button. Plus, you can play programs by loading them into SampliBrowse's internal software sampler and play them over the onscreen keyboard or through external MIDI-in.
