SWF to AVI is a very easy to use piece of software developed to convert SWF Flash files to AVI format. As compared to other similar applications that come with plenty of options, SWF to AVI is mostly focused on its user-friendly approach, so it shouldn’t get you too much trouble. The output format can be either PAL/NTSC DVD or PAL/NTSC VCD with just a few options included in the app, which means that it’s all a very straightforward process. Sadly, SWF to AVI doesn’t offer batch conversion, which is indeed a major setback, but instead it comes with a large preview screen to allow users watch their Flash files. The conversion engine is fast and reliable and we didn’t experience any significant slowdown during our test, although the app may stress up the CPU a little bit when processing large files. As you can see, everything’s pretty simple, so the lack of a help manual isn’t such a big problem. All things considered, SWF to AVI is an app that could help a handful of users, although we all agree that more work needs to be done here. The plain and simple GUI clearly comes in handy, but there are several features to be improved. There are no configuration options and while this could be only good news for beginners, those with more technical knowledge may look for an app that gives them much more control over the output file.
