SRTEd Description

SRTEd is a tiny and portable software application that allows you to fix subtitle files while viewing movies. It comes packed with intuitive options that can be easily figured out by anyone.Portability advantagesAs there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the program files to any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to run. Another possibility is to save a copy of SRTEd to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort. What's more, the app does not modify Windwos registry settings, nor create additional files on the HDD, leaving it clean after removal. Simple-to-use interfaceAs far as the GUI is concerned, the main window has an intuitive structure and lets users import SRT and video clips via the file browser or drag-and-drop method. Each subtitle is shown in a separate line, along with the start and end time, length and context. Only the text can be modified, by double-clicking an entry in the list. Furthermore, you can locate a line in the movie, check for overlapping subtitles, as well as use a search function across all subs. The new file can be saved to the original or a new one, as well as merged with another subtitle. Plus, you can specify the duration of new subs (in milliseconds). ConclusionThe tool is very light when it comes to CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the PC's overall performance. There were no kind of issues in our tests, since SRTEd did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. It may not be feature-rich, but it delivers users a simple solution to fixing subtitle content.
