SQL Client Description

Developed in Java, SQL Client is an approachable and intuitive Windows program that gives you the possibility to connect to multiple databases and manage them easily. It offers support for MySQL, DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.Portability advantagesThere is no setup pack involved, which makes SQL Client portable. You can save the JNLP file in any part of the hard disk and just click it to launch the app, provided that you have Java installed on the machine. Another possibility is to copy SQL Client to a pen drive or other removable storage unit to run it on any PC with minimum effort. Plus, it does not modify Windows registry settings or create additional files on the disk, so no traces are left behind after its removal. Intuitive interface and options for new connectionsThe UI is made from a normal frame with a neatly organized layout, where you can add a new connection to the list by specifying its name, built-in JDBC driver, class and Jar file, connect string, user name, password, extra properties, start schema and catalog (meta), transaction isolation mode, along with the background and foreground color. Manage, import and export connectionsIt is possible to add as many connections as needed, open them with one click, duplicate entries, edit properties at any time, delete the connections, as well as move them up and down in the list. What's more, SQL Client lets you export data and import it at a later time, as well as compare databases. Reconnecting to one of them is also possible. Evaluation and conclusionThere were no type of issues in our tests, since SQL Client did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. It is very responsive to commands and runs on low CPU and memory, so it does not hamper system performance. Although it is not particularly rich in its skill set, SQL Client offers a simple solution to connecting to multiple databases, and it can be used by anyone.
