SMC TigerCard 1000: The SMC9462SX is a 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit PCI card for servers and workstations. Installing the SMC9462SX lets you instantly upgrade to Gigabit speeds, delivering 2 Gbps of dedicated bandwidth while eliminating network bottlenecks, and increasing productivity. Because Gigabit Ethernet uses your existing Category 5 cabling, accelerated connectivity is available without having to install new, expensive fiber cables. The SMC9462SX supports packet propulsion, jumbo frames, and intelligent interrupt management to maximize throughput while minimizing CPU utilization. Traffic can be easily prioritized through QoS and VLAN support with tagging. Drivers for most popular networks are included, and a convenient Windows NT configuration utility is provided for easy installation. If you have or plan to have a 64bits server or workstation this is the card you need when you use Fiber for CAT 7 cabling and SC connectors.
