SF Rez Extract (formerly RezExtractor) Description

SF Rez Extract is a free and open-source Windows application designed to help end users extract content from video game archive files with the REZ format in a very simple manner. It does not come packed with complicated options or configuration properties, which means the tool can be used even by those with limited or no experience in software tools. The utility can be integrated into Windows software. It does not not require installation, so it can be saved to any location on the hard disk, in order to run it directly, without previous installers. An important aspect to take into account is that the Windows registry does not receive new keys, and no additional files are created on the HDD without the user's consent. The interface is represented by a small window with a plain and straightforward layout, which contains a single button linked to a panel with the program's description. REZ files can be submitted for content extraction by using the drag-and-drop support, one at a time. All files are created in the same location as the source REZ; this option cannot be changed. Unfortunately, SF Rez Extract does not integrate a function for previewing content to decide whether you want to extract it or not. The app runs on a very low amount of CPU and RAM, so its impact on computer performance is minimal. It has a good response time and quickly finishes an extraction job. We have not come across any kind of issues throughout our evaluation, since the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. Thanks to its intuitive structure and overall simplicity, SF Rez Extract can be used as a straightforward tool for extracting files from REZ items by anyone.
