Relative velocity - a race in one dimension Description

This simulation will enable you to examine an out-and-back race between two people. One runs on a moving sidewalk and the other runs on the floor beside the moving sidewalk. Such a race could occur in an airport, involving people who are especially bored while waiting for their planes. In the simulation, you can set the velocity of the sidewalk, as well as the initial velocity of the two people. Note that the slider that sets the velocity of person 1 is the initial velocity of person 1 relative to the moving sidewalk. The race distance is 100 m (50 m to the right, and then 50 m to the left). At the turnaround point, each person just reverses the direction of their velocity.
