RTPlay Description

Not too many years ago cellphones were still a couple of steps away from being able to play music and ringtones in the digital formats we are accustomed with today. MIDI was the standard and polyphony a bliss for the more advanced terminals. Transferring music from a PC or another phone was out of the question, but some devices were equipped with composers, which meant pretty much any tune could be translated into text and typed manually, then the mobile phone would play it back. Since many songs and ringtones were available online, in order to test them before wasting minutes typing the code, some dedicated applications were created and RTPlay is one of them.Clean interface and no setupThe great thing about this tiny tool is the fact that it will not require installation and it is so small that it can fit any storage device. Despite its size, this utility can be of great help and is very easy to use, so anyone can get the most out of it with no efforts. The main window offers a generous space for pasting the ringtone text, but it is important to note that only two formats are supported, more precisely Nokia Keypress and Nokia Composer. Choose the tempo and play clear MIDI soundsRTPlay has only one option other than the 'Play' button as it offers users the possibility to select the tempo for the tune and this is very important because if this parameter is not specified correctly, the track will sound weird. The range of supported tempos starts from 40 and goes all the way up to 225, so fast-paced songs can be played as well. The minuscule Nokia ringtone playerAll things considered, RTPlay does its job flawlessly and the nice piano sound it outputs is a quite pleasant surprise. Those who still have some of those antiquated mobile phones and want to play with them a bit can surely add this app to their utility belt.
