PythonToolkit Description

The PythonToolkit, also known as PTK, is designed as an interactive environment for the Python programming language. It was originally designed to provide a Python based environment similar to Matlab for scientists and engineers when used together with the numpy, scipy and matplotlib. However, the toolkit can also be used as a general purpose interactive Python environment especially for interactive GUI programming. It is built around a console window and simple Python source editor and a Tool plugin system so that extra features and support for Python packages can be easily added. Main features: A console window with support for muliple isolated Python interpreters (engines). Object inspection, auto-completions and call tips. Command history and multi-line editing. A simple Python code editor. Fully extendable via Tool plugin system. Python path management. Integrated debugger - set break points, pause, edit/inspect variables and step through code. Includes conditional and temporary breakpoints.
