Portable Rainlendar Lite Description

This is the portable edition of Rainlendar Lite - a calendar that you can fully customize, used to manage upcoming events and to-do lists. It can be seamlessly used by all people who want to keep track of their tasks directly on the desktop. Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can simply save the program files to any location on the hard drive and run the EXE item immediately. As an alternative, you can move Portable Rainlendar Lite to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation with minimum effort. An important aspect is that the Windows Registry area does not get entry updates, and files do not remain on the hard drive after program removal. The interface of the application is based on three individual frames that you can move to any position on the screen using the mouse cursor. They show the calendar, events list and to-do list, respectively. You can navigate the days, months and years on the calendar, and double-click a day to assign it with a task. Therefore, you may write a summary, location, start and end time, and comment, as well as mark it as private or an all-day event, schedule an alarm, place it into a category, and establish a recurring pattern. Furthermore, you can save the event as template. The Events and To Do frames show the task for the current day. From the context menu of the app you can access the Manager tool to edit to-do items and events, as well as to use a search function. Plus, you can import iCalendar and Rainlendar INI files, export and print data, set categories, and create backups. As far as program settings go, you can select the week's starting day, choose another UI language and skin, make the frames stay on top of other windows and set their transparency level, import additional calendars, and configure hotkeys. Advanced users can tinker with additional options when it comes to general properties (e.g. time and date format), network (e.g. proxy), calendar (e.g. wheel scroll), tooltip, event list (e.g. group multi-day events), alarm (e.g. default snooze time) and Manager (e.g. event columns); they are restorable to default. As you can see, Rainlendar Lite comes packed with plenty of settings to satisfy even picky users. It has a good response time, includes a help file and performed well throughout our evaluation, without hanging, crashing or displaying error dialogs. To summarize, Portable Rainlendar Lite is an intuitive application with plenty of ways to customize events and to-do lists through a calendar.
