Poker for Dummies Description

If you like Poker and betting this is the game for you! And, even if you don’t know how to play Poker but you’d like to learn, this is an excellent teacher for that. Poker for Dummies has an extensive built-in poker teacher, organized into two phases: Poker Basics, and Beyond the Basics. Below each category you’ll find several subjects and each subject displays a card-style entertaining lesson. After the lesson you have the possibility to take a quiz to check your knowledge on the matter. In Poker for Dummies is very well performed the environment representation. You get the feeling that you actually are in a Poker table playing for money. There are environment noise and all. Text balloons indicates what the players are doing in each turn and let you know when you have to make a move, just like in the real life game. A cool tool the game provides is an odds calculator. Since it’s good for a poker player to be able to calculate the odds that a certain hand has, this odd calculator will help you practice this particular skill. In each game you can set some parameters like number of players playing at the table, betting limits, and player bankroll. In addition to this, you can choose the type of poker game you want to play, since there are three modes to play: Texas Hold ‘Em: the object of the game is to create the best five-cards hand possible from any combination of your hole cards (two of them) and the community cards. Omaha: each player makes his hand from a combination of two cards dealt to him and three of the community cards. 7-card Stud: your goal is to create the highest hand possible from the seven cards you’ve been dealt: three face down and four face up. When you enter the game, you’ll be reaching the Main Menu, with the following options: - Welcome Player/Select Player: you can create several profiles to share your game with family and friends. - Play: you choose the poker style you want to play and start playing this mode of the game. - Help: it shows a three-tab arrangement to teach all you need to know about Poker. - Options: you can set the music volume, sound volume, and full screen, among others. - Quit: no further explanation required. You can try this game for 60 minutes before you buy the licensed version. If you like it, you can buy this game for only 19.95 dollars, right from the Oberon Media Game Center, on the Web.
