Piano8 is a software application designed specifically for Windows 8 users in order to help them play the piano right from their screen. The utility places a virtual piano on your desktop and gives you the possibility to control it with the aid of your keyboard or mouse, or via touch-capable devices. User interfaceSince this is an ad-supported program, you should take into consideration that it displays ad banners or other types of advertising material during its runtime. The layout is kept as simple and clear as possible, so even rookies can master the entire process with minimal effort. Main featuresPiano8 gives you the possibility to adjust the octave directly from the main screen pretty easily, thanks to the well-positioned buttons (“Down” and “Up”). Additionally, the utility offers support for a built-in metronome, so you can keep a steady tempo, and allows you to adjust the BPM with the aid of a slider. Other notable characteristics worth being mentioned are represented by the possibility to make the program show or hide the musical notes displayed on the claps of the piano, enable or disable the European musical notation, as well as activate or deactivate the keyboard support. During our testing we have noticed that Piano8 carries out a task quickly and provides very good audio quality. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not affected. Bottom lineAll things considered, Piano8 offers a simple software solution for helping you practice and improve your piano playing skills.
