Phylum Description

Phylum is an application developed for scientists who need to manage, organize and find digital images quickly and easily. Phylum creates a thumbnail representation for all your images before they are archived on external storage media. Phylum enables you to view and manage galleries of images, then when you need to locate an image Phylum will tell you the location of the file. Phylum is a drag and drop image management system. Folders of images are automatically catalogued by simply dragging and dropping onto the Library window. As images are catalogued, data is extracted and stored and a thumbnail image is constructed from the original image. Image thumbnails can be dragged into folders and organized into a hierarchy. Icons to the right of the library indicate where the original images are located - on a hard disc, CD or network, so you know on what type of storage device the original can be found.
