Photo Jumble is a great tool for those looking to create collages and mosaics. Its overall design is simple to use, yet it has many options and features. The program can create very high resolution posters with an incredible quality. At first I had to read a bit in the help section and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how everything was so nicely organized. It has step-by-step tutorials for everything you can do with the program. A library must first be created in order to make collages or mosaics. When making the library, the quality of the pictures as well as the width can be customized, and a color type has to be chosen between YCC, RGB, RGBA. It takes quite a long time to load all the pictures if you've selected a high quality, but the end result is worth it. A background image has to be selected as a model for your collage. After that you have a lot of options in the Tiles setup window. The tile pattern can be changed, the Aspect Ratio, the number of columns, you can also add gaps between the columns. Finally, you choose to use random sized and also rotate them if you want. These last two options give the image a randomness that results in a much higher quality collage. The rendering process takes time depending on how many tiles you've chosen. If you choose 5000, it will take no more than 5 minutes, but if you choose 30 000 it will take considerably more time. I liked that you can still tweak the end result. The background image can be removed and you can add shadows or borders, among others. In addition, you can change an individual tile simply by clicking on it and choosing another one to better match the overall design. When saving the file, the dimensions and the resolution can be changed to better suit your needs. I also found it very useful that the file size is shown when saving it.
