PatchTool Description

PatchTool is designed to visualize, manipulate, re-order, average, compare (with statistics), convert, and export color lists in a color-managed environment. You can export a list as an image, in plain text format, or in a CGATS compatible file format; you can also export lists as color catalogues to be used within the BabelColor CT&A program. PatchTool is a multi-purpose tool for averaging, manipulating, viewing, converting and exporting color lists. With its Gamut Tools you can convert colors using one or two ICC profiles, check if a color list will be clipped by a profile conversion, determine the gamut volume of a profile, and generate fixed pitch color lists. Its Display Check tool enables you to measure your display characteristics using a built-in set of patches, or the patches from any opened color list. Supports the Datacolor Spyder2 and Spyder3, the MonacoOPTIX (X-Rite) DTP94, and the GretagMacbeth (X-Rite) Eye-One Pro and Eye-One Display. Main features: Visualize color lists as color patches (color spaces: xyY, XYZ, L*a*b*, L*C*h*, RGB, CMYK, spectral data) Import color lists saved in industry standard file formats(CGATS, CxF V-1 and V-2) Import user-defined lists created with spreadsheets or word processors Import/export spectral data with various scales (0-1 or 0%-100%) and ranges (380-730 nm or 400-700 nm) Import RGB data encoded in 8 bit, 15 bit, 16 bit, or scaled to 100% Import/export color lists in OSA UCS coordinates Switch between the Measured, Random, or Visual layouts of ECI2002 and IT8.7/4 color charts Facilitate the printer and monitor certification processes defined by IDEAlliance Measure color patches on your display and check your display calibration (White Point, grey ramp, primaries) using a DTP94, Eye-One Pro, Eye-One Display, Spyder2, or Spyder3 Measure colors in reflectance with an i1 Pro Compare a patch in a file to a patch in any other file Compare two files; get detailed statistics on their differences Average color lists using weighted or un-weighted methods Re-order, rename and renumber color lists; turn and mirror patch layouts; flip rows and columns Convert color lists to standard color spaces (xyY, XYZ, L*a*b*, L*C*h*, RGB, CMYK) Convert color lists using one or two RGB or CMYK ICC profiles Generate device dependent (RGB, CMYK), device independent (L*a*b*, L*C*h*, XYZ), and OSA UCS color lists Check if a color list is clipped by a destination profile Determine the gamut volume of a profile Export color lists as standard CGATS files or in a simplified text format Export RGB in 8 bit, 15 bit+ (i.e. Photoshop "16 bit"), "true" 16 bit, or scaled to 100% Export color lists to Munsell HVC Export color lists in many image formats (including TIFF-L*a*b* and TIFF-CMYK, 8 and 16 bit) Export color lists to be used as "Color Decks" in the BabelColor CT&A program (sold separately)
