P4800 Description

P4800 uses digital signal processing (DSP) to provide a wide range of mixing and signal processing capability. Audio at the four analog, line-level inputs can be processed and mixed to eight output buses. You can add more processing at the output buses, create crossovers, and adjust levels before sending signal to the eight outputs. Presets on the P4800 allow you to create up to 128 custom configurations for the various sound scenarios within an acoustic environment. A voltage pin interface on the P4800 allows you to install external hardware, such as a rotary switch and potentiometer, that allows end users to switch among presets and control gain. Logic output provides feedback signaling from the P4800 to the control hardware. A computer is required to setup and configure the P4800. Once installed, the P4800 operates as a stand-alone unit and does not require a computer to operate. The GUI software operates in two modes: live mode and design mode. The distinction between live mode and design mode, as described below, is very important. In live mode, the software is communicating with a P4800 connected to your PC. It allows you to operate the P4800 unit directly, with changes to the signal flow diagram taking immediate effect on the audio signal going through the device. In live mode, you are always working directly on the live preset. Modifications made in live mode permanently change the settings for the live preset. Design mode allows you to prepare a signal flow diagram without being connected to or affecting the audio signal passing through a P4800. Design mode also allows you to add, edit, and delete presets on a device. This is the P4800 software that you can use to control the device.
