ORT Modeller Description

The ORT Modeller was developed as an easy-to-use piece of software for modelling and flying launch vehicles of arbitrary size and complexity. It is not a model rocketry simulator like OpenRocket, instead it focuses on real-world launch vehicles. The ORT Modeller comes with a modeling tool that persists models in an XML file and a simulation engine for launching a model. Main features: Create new launch vehicle models in a snap simply by dragging and dropping components and editing properties in side panes dedicated to a particular task. Run simulations directly in the modeller for quick turnaround. Load and save arbitrary numbers of launch vehicles from and to XML files. Supports three different atmosphere models, pressure drag (0-angle-of-attack only) and earth gravity. Supports arbitrarily complex vehicles with multiple stages including strap-on boosters. "Live" simulation driver included. Some historical launchers are already included, more to come. Vehicle performance is charted (acceleration, velocity, altitude) and can be compared to documented reference data Thrust curves for monopropellant engines Cd-over-mach curves for nosecones
