OFFKEY Description

If you have a cam keyed to a shaft and wish to change its phasing relative to the shaft by a few degrees, one way to do it is to make an OFFset KEY. This application is designed to offer user the data he needs to build such a key. A number of points on the key are picked out (see the numbers, 0-7). The program computes the location of these points prior to rotation using an x-y coordinate system with its origin at the center of the shaft. In the drawing, x is positive to the right (of the shaft center) and y is positive above the shaft center.
