NVU is a Windows utility designed to help you create your own web pages and publish them on the Internet. Although the program comes packed with a wide range of features, the GUI is clean and straightforward. The application gives users the possibility to create a new web page or upload a local HTML file, edit the HTML source code, create a new item using the XHTML file format, work with multiple documents at the same time, as well as save the documents to HTML or plain text format. The text can be customized in terms of font style, size, colour, and alignment, and you can also change the background colour of the page, perform find and replace operations, insert horizontal lines and set their properties, embed special characters, and add HTML elements and attributes. Furthermore, NVU enables users to validate the documents before publishing them on the Internet, switch between four panes (normal, HTML tags, source code, and preview option), enable the spell checker function, make templates, create rules for sheets, insert tables, as well as add or delete rows, columns and cells. Last but not least, you are allowed to upload images, add table of contents and links, set the page properties (general information, colour, background), and insert XFN information within your links. When it comes to publishing websites, you can specify the site name, address, publishing server, user name, and password. During our testing we have noticed that the program carries out a task very quickly and without errors throughout the entire process. All in all, NVU proves to be a fully-featured HTML editor that bundles many useful features for helping you design web pages professionally.
