Organising the choice for school/college students is usually a time-intensive process. Students tend to have a very clear idea of the choices they have an interest studying, and are reluctant to settle for anything less. It is in the students' and schools' interest to ensure that all of the students are as satisfied as is possible with the choices they study. However, limited school/college resources, such as teachers, classrooms and class sizes must be taken into consideration. My Choice is a Titanium based program which, given information about the choices available, the students' choices, and the school's resources; can calculate the MOST APPROPRIATE arrangement of choice blocks for a particular population of students. It also assigns the choices to the students in such a way that each student is as content as possible. The program is very flexible; you can change settings, and make your own choice blocks, to see the outcome. It is based on combination and possibility mathematics, and to guarantee that it will produce the most suitable blocks arrangement, it takes numerous factors and values into account. Some are Input Values (data sourced outside of the program) and some are Calculated Values (data set by the program, based on the Input Values): It consists of a User Interface, launched on a Mac or Windows desktop computer, with four pages (Settings, Choices, Students, Blocks); and spreadsheets (Students, Choices, ChoiceCategories, Choice Combinations, Blocks) which displays all of the relevant information and data, to be viewed by the user.
