MovieSafe Description

The MovieSafe application was designed to be an internet copy protection solution for a variety of movie file formats. It works by encapsulating the movie file inside a Java applet. Main features: Movies can be run only from a designated website Movies can't be retrieved from the cache and won't run locally or on another server Movies are further compressed inside the applet Quicktime movies don't need Quicktime installed as a 275K movie player can be included in the applet Embedded Quicktime movie player can run with any Java 1.1 or better Java VM MPEG and AVI formats are supported but are best suited to intranets since they require a browser plugin A view-by date can be specified after which the movies will no longer run Movies can open another URL when clicked on. This allows repeating quicktime movie advertisements to be embedded into web pages
