Minos Description

Minos is an advanced and reliable application designed to enable picture collectors to easily manage their images. Minos can read and report image tags but the only one it writes is the Orientation tag during a batch rotation process. Main features: Lossless batch rotation of all JPEG files in a given folder based on the embedded EXIF Orientation tag that newer digital cameras are capable of adding. A fast Batch Rotation Sorting mode which supports a lossless batch rotation of JPEG, BMP, PNG, TIFF and RLE image files. Sorting is done by pressing an arrow key once per displayed image which moves the image to a specific sub-folder depending on how it needs to be rotated. After rotation, all images can be moved back to the current folder. A Triage Sorting mode which sorts images into two specific sub-folders (dump and keep) with a single press of an arrow key. After sorting, the dump folder can be deleted and the files in the keep folder can be moved back to the current folder. It is from this "live or die" function that Minos gets its name. A Category Sorting mode which sorts images into specific sub-folders associated with keys 1 - 9 and A -Z. The user can easily create and manage custom key to sub-folder associations. Functions to add and remove key prefixes for the sub-folders associated with Category Sorting keys as a memory aid (making it convenient to keep an Explorer window open beside Minos when using Category Sorting mode). Function key and button(s) to open Windows Explorer at the folder currently being browsed. Backup and restore functions for user customized key to sub-folder associations. Find and replace function for easily updating key to sub-folder associations in the event folders are moved to a different drive. Moving image files from the current folder to the parent folder or top level folder with a single key press (useful if, for example, a user sorts a file to the wrong sub-folder). Function key (and button) for fast moving or copying of image files from the current folder to a favorites folder that the user can specify in Settings. Optional moving, renaming and deleting camera RAW, JPEG and intermediate files together if they have the same name but a different file extension. Can display dozens of different image file types including many types of camera RAW, HDR etc. Fast and easy browsing through a whole folder of image files. Optional full screen display of images. Search for images by name or partial name. Function key to quickly move to and browse images in the favorites folder. Easily set the current image as desktop background/wallpaper (option to set a randomly chosen image as background/wallpaper). Full screen slide show with option for random image order. Reporting of EXIF and IPTC image tags. Single clicking the currently displayed image refreshes the display while double clicking opens the image in the default editor set for user's system.
