From Microsoft: This update addresses the "High Bandwidth Unavailable with VIA 1394 Open Host Controller" issue in Windows 2000. If the 1394 Open Host Controller Interface (OHCI) on a Windows 2000 computer contains four or more ports, certain 1394 devices connected to the 1394 OHCI may be unable to allocate the level of bandwidth that is necessary to transfer data. Installing this update allows the affected 1394 devices to operate at full capacity.
