MetroTwit Description

MetroTwit is a Twitter client with an interface inspired by the Windows Metro visual style. It combines a smart and clean design with a set of functions that let you have more control over the activity on your account and can help you improve the way you interact in the micro blogging service. To begin with, the app's interface is divided into columns letting you have a wider view of what is going on in your account. You can easily select the columns you want to hide/show on the main window and arrange them in the order you prefer. On the other hand, the "streaming option" lets you control the stream of tweets and the update intervals so as not to miss anything in case you're following many people. The interaction options are available via the context menu: if you want to retweet, reply, or favorite tweets you can use the right-click menu to see the options. When someone mentions, retweets you, or sends you a direct message, you will be notified right away by means of sound alerts and pop-up notifications that you can configure as you prefer. Moreover, the application lets you use filters to prevent certain content from showing up in your timeline, like keywords, users, or hashtags. And to compose new tweets, the app puts at your disposal tools like URL shorteners, image and location services, or additional tools like TwitLonger for tweets of more than 140 characters. MetroTwit comes in two versions, a free and a paid one. While MetroTwit Plus allows you to manage several accounts, run the app on multiple PCs, and disable ads, the free version works for one account only and is ad-supported. The latter works well enough if you have one account or use Twitter for personal purposes or entertainment. In short, MetroTwit is a client that has a great looking interface and offers everything one can expect from a desktop Twitter app. It is easily customizable and provides several themes and color schemes to modify its appearance.
