Media Browser (formerly Video Browser) Description

Windows Media Center is a cut above Windows Media Player that allows you not only to play music, create playlists, watch videos and play recorded TV programs or display pictures and slideshows, but also to record HDTV, watch live TV and online channels. Although it supports the same audio and video formats as Windows Media Player including AAC, MPEG-4, WMV, AVI, XviD or MOV, Windows Media Center allows you to share personal files over the network and it grants access to tons of great entertainment. Using Media Browser you are able to manage and organize all your files in a more intuitive way. When you launch the application for the first time, you need to specify the path for all your media collections, radio podcasts and other related data so Windows Media Center can recognize your personal files. Being designed as a plugin for Windows Media Center, Media Browser takes all your recorded media and presents it in a simple and user-friendly interface. You can even record a live TV show or schedule a recording in advance, then organize all your media in predefined playlists as you want. What’s more, you can even enable the ‘Parental control’ feature and block unrated content, hide blocked content and set the maximum allowed rating. For those who want a fancier look and personalize the application, they can navigate to the ‘display/playback’ tab and choose the theme and the color scheme they like most, hide focus frame and set the application to remember folder indexing. Overall, Media Browser seamlessly integrates within Windows Media Center and enables you to quickly create playlists, manage the access to specific files and organize your media in a more intuitive way.
