MainConcept JPEG2000 for Mac Description

MainConcept JPEG2000 is a software module for video stream encoding into J2k (ISO/IEC 15444-1) streams within the MainConcept Reference application. DCI (Digital Cinema Initiative) adopted JPEG2000 for video encoding of motion pictures. Current movie distribution and presentation from movie rolls is expected to be replaced by digital projectors that will play high-res mj2 streams with superior image and sound quality. MainConcept JPEG2000 offers full DCI compliance to ISO/IEC 15444-1 Amd1, Profile 3 and Profile 4, for Digital Cinema. It features multiple resolutions, alpha channel as well as RGB and YUV color spaces. The full license codec Plug-In gives you exact control over the final bitrate in a single coding pass, so you do not need to adjust quality factor and recompress. The software as Windows version also includes the MainConcept J2k Decoder filter, enabling playback of JPEG2000 files in Windows Media Player and other compatible programs. MainConcept JPEG2000 can only be used when the MainConcept Reference base application is installed (not included - free download).
